These are my current system specs:
CPU: AMD FX 4350 4.3GHz OC (NOT ANYMORE)
Motherboard: M5A97 EVO R2.0
Memory: HyperX FURY Series 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz CL10
Storage: WD 1TB Black Drive 7200 RPM
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R7 250 OC 2GB GDDR5
Case: Corsair Spec-03 Orange
Other:Network card and Blu-ray R/W
Power Supply:
Aerocool MOD XT 750W
Other: Blu-Ray R/W drive + Network card

I have plans to upgrade my CPU to a FX-8350 or an FX-9590 in the future BTW.

The specific cards I've narrowed it down to are these two:
Palit 1060 6GB super jetstream

XFX RX 480 GTR triple X edition
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01J8CCUL2

I want to be able to upgrade these in the future. Is CrossfireX worth it with an extra 480 or would it be better to sell my 1060 later for a new single card (1080). Best price to performance ratio is preferred. I realise 480 crossfire is very hit & miss at the moment with current games but won't it get better with time and driver updates?

Only between these two cards please. I'm on a very restricted budget and wanted to get the best for £250 which these both are at the moment.

They sure do, it's what they've always aimed for
Just wait a few more months, hold on your 4350 until some brand new Zen come up.

I can garantee that the GTX 1060 will keep you busy until there
Really hard to say if they'll fix the graphical issues with SLI/CrossFire, i believe not. So i'd say a stronger card is much more reliable than two weaker ones, so my votes go for the GTX 1060. I have a 1060 too and can say it's a amazing card, so another point there, It's able to max-out any game at 1080p.
And if you ever desire to step up, there will be the 1070 or 1080 for you.

If i may say so, i'd not recommend at all going AMD right now. even more the FX series. It's dead now, ZEN is coming in christmas, i would wait for it if i were you. Or if you wanna buy something now, go on with Intel Skylake, it outperforms any AMD right now. Even tho you would have to change your MOBO + RAMs it is still very worth it compared to the FX or Ax series from AMD.

Thanks the GTX 1060 is at the forefront, ZEN does look promising and AMD seem to have the best price to performance ratio for CPU's overall for past generations. I'm probably Team Red for CPU and Team Green for GPU
