Solution
They work together, but:
- You have a non overclock cpu paired with a overclocking motherboard and an aftermarket cooler. If you're not going to overclock you can save some cash by getting a H97 based motherboard. You can use the stock intel cooler, or still use the aftermarket cooler as it runs quieter.
- Get a pair of 4gb for a total of 8gb ram instead of only 4gb
- For this system a GTX 960 seems a bit low quality gpu, get a GTX 970 if you can or at least a R9 280x.
- The psu is good, but unless you are going to add another gpu it is overkill, a 500 watt psu will do. If you get another gpu you might need a 600 watt, depending on what gpu.
- Get windows 8 for better performance
- your motherboard has a built-in network adapter, you...

- If you are going to use a wireless connection (a wired connection is always better), get a good wireless card, not the cheapest one.

Solution
I agree with bootcher. Your non overclock cpu could fit in even a b85 mobo, which would save you some additional fund. The b85 chipset would not support broadwell cpu, but broadwell would not offer a tangible performance upgrade anyway over hashwell. Either that or spend a little extra for the overclockable i5 4690k and overclock it on your msi z97.

If you're not into overclocking, you may like to consider the i5 4590. If you want to do better and don't mind spending more, the xeon e3 1231 v3 is a viable option. It is the equivalent of a locked i7 4770 without the integrated graphics. This means four cores with hyperthreading enabled. Hyper-threading would be useful for streaming, though useless for gaming.

These days 8GB of memory kit would be the bare minimum for gaming. Personally I would go for a single 8GB stick, but a dual channel kit would be fine.
