Hi,

This is my build:

I5-3570k

Asus P8Z77-V

Corsair Vengeance 8GB(2x4GB)

Western Digital 1TB 7200rpm HDD

Gigabyte Windforce gtx680-OC

Cooler Master 212 evo

dvd rw drive

Cooler Master HAF X case

I am building this in order to play the latest games at max settings and hopefully go a few years without needing to upgrade.

Is there anything obvious that i am missing (aside from a psu)?

What psu do you think i should get? ( I was looking at a corsair ax750w)

Finally, it's a little expensive, are there any ways you think i could get the same high performance for less money?

Thanks very much.

Well you won't notice any jump by going to a more powerful CPU. GPU you might but that all depends on what resolution you play at. Try something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($229.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($34.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX...

What's the budget and primary use? That would help to configure a better system. For starters you could go with the GTX 670 and save $100 there, and then drop the HAF X to a far less expensive case and save some money there.

The budget is ~$1500, including OS and monitor.
I don't mind going a little higher if I am going to see a noticeable jump in performance though.
I am primarily going to be using this for gaming and would like to play with the highest settings.

Thanks very much! I was planning on playing at 1900x1080.
Is the extra ssd worth it instead of putting the money towards a better GPU?
Also, with win 7 sp1 will i be able to upgrade any of the hardware?(e.g. another graphics card in a year or two)

Yeah with Windows it won't be a problem. Although with Steam becoming available on Ubuntu later this year you won't even need to buy a Windows license anymore.
