So, I decided it isn't worth it to buy a console because the PC can offer so much more than a console for not too much more. My budget is 800 US$. I am going to be using it for gaming mostly (Wow, Titanfall, The Witcher 3 when it comes out).So I threw together a quick build, here is the problem however, I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to hardware compatibility. I already have a case and a PSU so basically my build looks like this:

Video Card: ASUS GTX650TI-O-1GD5 GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

CPU: Intel Core i5-3350P Ivy Bridge 3.1GHz (3.3GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 69W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80637i53350P

MoBo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

RAM: G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR

HDD: WD BLACK SERIES WD1003FZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

CPU Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit - OEM

Feel free to make suggestions or let me know if I am missing anything. I don't have a SDD listed because I am going to get it at a later time, don't feel I absolutely need it right away. Also, I am not interested in Overclocking so no need to worry about that either. Think that's it, Thanks!

Get a weaker cpu (i3 or amd equivalent) and upgrade your gpu. You will get much more gaming peformance for the money. The other parts are good. What is the wattage of your psu?

What case and PSU do you have?

Do you need a monitor?

If not, this should work well for you. If you don't need a monitor or any other peripherals, then you could get the FX-8350. Also, even though you don't want to overclock, the FX fans can get quite loud occasionally, so there's no harm in getting an after market cooler, even though it's not entirely necessary.

Also, make sure you save a little bit of money so you can buy some good games straight away! 😛

Heres a link to my PSU and case. These are older models so I am not entirely sure that these will be compatible with newer hardware, so please if you could let me know if they will be, thank you. Also, I use my TV (32 Inch, 1080P Samsung) as my monitor, if you have a suggestion or think that using my TV is a bad idea, let me know, I have been using it as my monitor for a long time so it isn't like I haven't tried it yet.

Case: Thermaltake SopranoRS

PSU: Thermaltake Black Widow

This will get you maxed out in Titanfall at 1080p. Went with the 6300 because you really need a new power supply, I wouldn't trust that Thermaltake.

Definitely :) And good decision, the power supply is the most important part of the system; a bad one could fry everything. Better to pay $60 now for a great, well-built PSU than have to pay another $800 later because it blew!

I also opted for the 990FX board, as it is much more capable for overclocking than the 970 series is.

Thanks. Decided to keep the AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor. Also would G.SKILL Sniper 8GB Ram be better than the A-Data XPG V2 8GB? I am not worried about spending the little extra money for the snipers. Just want to be sure they are worth it.

If you get them for the $69.99 they're on Newegg for right now, go with them because of the lower CAS latency. I have Snipers in my build and love em. And the 8320 will be great :) The 970 boards aren't really built for overclocking the 8-core 8320, so definitely go with the 990.
