I had posted a query recently regarding getting my already data filled hard drive recognized when installing it into another system. A few people took the time to read it so I was just wondering - in a qurious sorta way - am I really asking a dumb question or is there not a way to perform what it is I am attempting? Would hate to think that I am wasting my time trying to get this to work if it's not possible. To me it sure seems that this would not be an uncommon swap and there is most likely a utility and/or knowhow to perform it.

Still would appreciate any and all input :)

Cheers,

You talk about a "DriveGuide"! Is this the drivers for the controller of your motherboard?

Have you tried installing it on the other system?
If not , do so!
Am i correct to asume you want to make it Master 1 on the
other system?

No, read her other post. She just wants to add it as a slave. The proper VIA drivers or whatever hard drive controllers should already be in place if the system is booting and working correctly with out the slave.

It may be a girl, but don't get your hopes up just yet. And don't get too excited, you may scare her off.

I'm not sure, but I think girls are allowed to use PCs too.

Believe it or not, I've actually seen some at computer shows!

:-D

Did you actually go into the Bios and recognize the new drive the "first" time with hdd auto-detect.. or did you just plug it all in and run DriveGuide?

(Since I can't seem to edit my post)

Also, can you use DOS fdisk to view partition information on the particular drive?

Ops ! Sorry!

Not what i meant!

I was surprised, its a rare thing seeing a girl interested in the computer world!

And the girls at Computer exibits are there just to atract the crowd or they are the girlsfriend of some of us!

Nice for a change , seeing a girl here!

I´ll be really quiet so i won´t scare her off! ;-)

Relax, dude, I was just kidding around. :-D

Actually, a lot of the girls/women I see at the shows are there to buy stuff.

Unfortunately, a lot of them aren't very good-looking, but there are occasionally a few. :-D

Where do you live?
