Hi,
I have a radeon 4850 connected from my pc with a digital cable to a flat screen monitor
and by hdmi to my tv.
If I put the display into clone mode, the display on the pc changes.
If I use an analog connection to the pc the display doesnt change.
Any ideas anybody?
Thanks
Mike

What is it you are trying to do ?
If i assume you are trying to get whats being displayed on the monitor to also be displayed on the TV then it sounds as though you have either the cables on the wrong connections on the GPU, or you have the secondary marked as the primary display.
If this isn't correct then please elaborate on what you mean by the display on teh PC changes ? to what ?

Hi,
When I enable clone, the pc display changes to what looks like widescreen (space at the top and bottom)
This doesnt happen if I use the analog connection from the video card.
I have checked the primary monitor selection is correct several times

Well i dont exactly remember how i set mine up but i remember it needed me to either run non native on the TV or the Monitor as one was wide screen and one was not. I dont have it set up on this system so i cant just take a look.
I dont see how the TV can force the monitor to change unless its set to be the primary display and you have it set at a wide screen res. But as you have said you are sure its set right then im sorry but i cant help.
