This Is What You Need For CoD: Advanced Warfare PC

Since both of the new consoles have BluRay drives, expect 50+GB games to be the norm now, as there aren't any storage restrictions and developers can let the bloat of their uncompressed audio files in 12 different languages hang out.

If it's anything like the last CoD, it will be a horribly optimized port with ridiculously inflated recommended specs to try to sell more GTX 980s and Haswell E i7s, despite the fact the game will run like crap regardless of what you have.

"Gamers will also need an Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 with 1 GB of VRAM, an AMD Radeon HD 5870 with 1 GB of VRAM, or better"

Seems odd to me, there is a large performance gap between the GTS 450 and a Radeon 5870. Is it that badly coded for AMD cards that it needs so much more horsepower?

i picked up on that also. Must be a typo. a gts 450 is roughly equivelant to a 5770. It would take 2 gts 450's in sli to even come close to keeping up with a 5870.

and I bet you a beer that a $150 GPU will max it out. The graphics look rubbish.

High Definition Audio should be an add on download because honestly Titan Fall has so little voice audio that the size of that game was ridiculous and I think people are in agreement that most of us really don't care if an explosion is lossless or compressed at 320kbps, or hell even 192kbps just saying.

Well if the storage space is the same as titanfall it might be 75% audio. And it is so big only so bad cpus can run the game. But why quad cores are dirt cheap fucking compress the audio and require a quad core instead. Bf4 got the best audio ever and it did not need 50gig hardisk space.

@Supernova1138
the last cod game was the last one to use the original cod modern warfare engine, this one is on a brand new one, i have no reason to doubt their optimization for the pc now that infinity ward has been gutted... there contempt for the pc platform with mw2 was really bad.

@Conrad Pinto
is this game 1080p 60fps on the consoles? or at least the ps4? i want my games to run better, not worse, and i found that the extra graphical crap in an fps makes the fps harder because the ai can see you easily, where as the player has a harder time seeing the ai.

@Neog2

I just did a 10 second audio test with my mic, its not the best but whatever
wav - 1753kb
flac - 592kb
mp3 128 - 160kb
there are certain things that in a fps im ok with being compressed, such as voice, because they mimic radio static, i never understand what is said anyway and need to read subs, so that can be compressed to hell, but sound effects, i want to have the highest quality possible, and if that means crap takes up more space, so be it, however, default the regional language as the default to download language, and other languages as dlc... also NO PRE RENDERED CUTSCEENS... seriouly 720p and 1080p with little compression takes up WAY to much space.

@elcentral
i think you are confusing battlefield 4 with blacklight retribution.

"Players take on the role of an advanced soldier who has a “cutting-edge” exoskeleton that provides him/her with unique abilities. "

Afaik you can leave that "her" out...CoD is not like Halo Reach, where your MP character played the campaign. As far as I know, if you play the story in AW, you will play a man.

So the situation is the very same as with Titanfall, where we had around 35 GB uncompressed audio files? That is great, I miss the times, when I had to install games from 5 CD's. Atleast back then, you could clearly see the difference, but who is able to spot detail distinction between let's say Crysis 3 and this CoD? So HW requirement are oneway transmitable from consoles, but if a normal gaming PC is atleast 3 times as powerfull as a console, developers use that power for bad port optimization? I hope and believe that with e-sports like LoL or DoTA, the market share of PC is going to rise and that PS 5? and Xbox Two? are going not to exist.

I honestly think the people making the requirements were like "Well, those guys making the game for the Xbox say they only have access to 5GB, we'll just bump it up to 6GB"

Without realizing something like 1GB-2GB is actually being used for the game.

55GB space! Looks like start of new standard for upcoming games. Now, it seems like those days are gone where it is recommended to have 250GB or so SSD for games. What is also interesting is the 1GB VRAM requirement, unlike other new games demanding high capacity of VRAM. CoD, let's see what they are offering this time.
