If you are just going to use it out of the box as is, the MSI 1060 Armor 2 is a much better value. The Gaming X is really designed for those who plan on abusing the card through maximized user OC in addition to the factory OC.

So, worth it? Yes. To you? Dunno.

for the extra $50 bucks and from amazon prime two days ill have it and I would like the option to OC if I choose. thanks for taking the time to answer.

It's a great card. I'd get one if my budget allowed. I have my 970 Strix maxed out OC. So I'd pay the extra for that option too.
