So i've had mouse delay for 4-5 years now. I made some threads from 2020 to 2022 and there has been nothing to fix this. However, i managed to fix this issue by going to a lan party at my friends house. His apartment is like 5-10 minutes away.
I'm tired of seeing people suffer from this problem while people who don't have this issue, saying that it's not possible. It might not seem possible but it is possible due to us having it. I've changed every part in the pc like 3 times. I've changed mices. The only fix was going to a lan party at my friends house... I'd love some answers, and tell me if you have the same issue. This really needs more attention.

If i wrote this in the wrong section, please move my post.

Have you tried other ports? Other mice? Other computers? Other USB devices in the same port as the mouse?

An electrical problem would affect more than just the mouse, because if you think about it, the mouse isn't powered directly by the mains power. It gets its power from the USB controller, which gets its power from the PSU in some form or fashion.

As i said. I fixed the problem directly when i went to the lan party. It's a known issue but not as well known as most issues. However, i remember that there was a power outage or something my game froze for 5 seconds and then i got the mouse delay. After that it hasn't been fixed.

I'm planning on making a full video of this problem some day. Showing the mouse delay at home and when driving to my friends apartment and plugging in the pc to show that this can happen. There are slight stutters and mouse delay tho. But this needs more attention because i was almost going into the wall for people not believing me. There are more people than me having this issue. I was thinking too much trying to remove this mouse delay back in the days. Now i sound so dramatic but we need more information on this.

"PC works fine at my friend's house but not my house" doesn't really solve the problem though. You still have a problem at your house, and I'd imagine you don't even know what to look for. Making a video showing this doesn't really provide anything useful other than the problem happening in one place but not the other.

If you suspect you have an electrical problem, bring it up to the apartment manager.

In the mean time, have you done anything I suggested? Because the more information you have about characterizing the problem, the more that narrows things down about what the solution is. I mean heck, maybe this could be solved by getting a power conditioner or a UPS.

That's exactly the problem, some houses/apartments have bad grounding while the pc is not grounded. I've done everything you can do. I've changed every part in the pc 3 times. Power supply 4 times i think. I've changed 3 mices... 3 graphics cards... 2 motherboards. 2 Cpus. Also sorry for sounding rude, was not meant to be. I've brought it up to the managers, but they avoid fixing things. They havent changed the outlets for over 12 years which is the recommended change time. They're avoiding us even asking. I actually spoke about ups today. I might call them on monday.

Forgot to bring up that i've changed 2 chassis.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

This:

"However, i managed to fix this issue by going to a lan party at my friends house."

Did you take just the mouse or your entire system?

What other peripherals do you have? Maybe a ground loop is being created somewhere but, as has been mentioned, other devices would likely to be being affected as well. Not just the mouse.

Consider having other people bring their computers to your house and determine if those computers have mouse problems. As I understand your post nothing is being "fried" but you must tell your friends anyway. Even if they may have some general awareness of the mouse problems.

And are helping you troubleshoot by bring their systems to your place.

The another possible constant is software. You have made multiple hardware changes but have you continued to use some app or utility throughout it all? Even if the software is updated there could be some inherent incompatibility between the build, OS, installed app(s), and mouse.

When do the mouse delay's occur? Try using Task Manager and Resource Monitor to observe system performance. Use both tools but only one tool at a time.

Watch what resources are being used, to what extent (%), and what is using any given resource.

The objective being to determine what changes when the mouse begins to stutter or otherwise suffering delays.

Hello! I took my entire system to my friends apartment. I've tried everything. For 4-5 years. The only thing that fixed this mouse delay was going to my friends lan party. This issue seems to be known for bad grounding in the apartment. The mouse is delayed. Directly when i took my system home i got the mouse delay again. Also when starting the pc, the led on my gpu and cooler and the chassi fans are not getting led at the same time. Takes like 1 second for the chassi fans to get led, 2 seconds for the gpu and 3-4 seconds for the cooler. I have changed every part 2-3 times. All devices here are affected. There are slow startups, my mother is getting scared when sparkings appear, did not happen in our other apartment from what i remember. I'm 20, so i'm taking responsibility of problems in the apartment when it comes to hardware and so on. The internet is slower than it's supposed to be. A lot of slowness basically. It goes from 10-15mb per second and then it can go to 2 eventually and 3mb. Everything is basically slower than it's supposed to be.

Okay - so there are other problems besides just the mouse slowness/delay.

Replacing computer components is not going to solve those problems. And apparently has not done so.

As for the fan delays and times. Not surprising in some ways. The fans make take a bit longer to kick in - simply because the component has not yet reached the temperature necessary for the fans to start. Much more needs to be known.

Noted "sparkings". Where, when, what is happening at the times sparks are seen? One outlet, one circuit, all outlets....? Could be a bad or loose electrical connection somewhere within your apartment's electrical services or maybe elsewhere in the building.

Any surge protectors, UPS's, power bars, heavy load appliances such as a portable heater or window air conditioner? Again, there may be a ground loop of some sort.

You really need to get a qualified electrician in to take a look at your apartment's electrical service. Also check what all is connected and how it is connected.

Find out who else in your building is having problems. Either electrical and/or internet. Document all problems. Take photographs, measurements, to show what is (or is not) happening.

If other tenants are having similar problems then collectively you all need to find a voice and raise the issues with the manager, landlord, and the owner. Right up the management chain. Failing that then escalate to the applicable authorities.

As for internet slowness that can be caused by any number of things: traffic, poor connections, substandard cabling, misconfigured servers, and overall poor management, etc. by your ISP. Electrical problems could be involved - who knows. Likely a lot of wires will need to be traced and inspected.

The problem is not a computer peripheral problem and likely not computer related at all.

However, the problem may be dangerous. Get an electrician as soon as possible.

It's happening in all outlets. It's also happening when plugging in the adapter to the power supply. Happening on all power supplies. Even happens when plugging the adapter to the monitor. Doesn't matter where or what i plug in basically, it's a slight sound that goes Tshhhh when plugging stuff in, sounds electrical. It does feel pretty dangerous. I had a gtx 745 back in 2018-2019 before changing to gtx 1050 back then. However i was checking why the gtx 745 was so hot, it turned out i got a slight shock from the gpu itself. Newer components have more safety to them? And i just noticed a new issue 3 days ago, that people are saying is electrical, Low lod issue and rendering problems, i've changed gpu to my old one to see if that fixed the problem, which it didn't. There are also broken pipes in the basement, where you wash your clothes etc, they are not going to fix it, been that for years now, so i barely want to see how the electrical stuff looks.

"It does feel pretty dangerous".

It is dangerous!

If things are getting hot and you are getting shocked then the situation is not going to be solved by tinkering with your computer and/or replacing components.

Be it a 110 volt or a 230 volt system depending on where you live. Both are dangerous.

Only takes a bit to cross the threshold from "Tshhhh" to lots of sparks, smoke, and flames.

Does not matter if newer computer components are "safer". [That is another discussion for another time.]

Likely that, sooner or later your computer and other devices are likely to get fried because the electrical system is in poor condition if not sub-standard to begin with. And that is the best case.

Worst case being that someone will be hurt, killed and/or burned out of their home.

All the worse if other tenants are experiencing similar problems. You have no control over what those other tenants might do: e.g., plug in a space heater or other heavy wattage device. Or some attempted DIY YouTube fix. That will end badly as well.

You cannot fix the problem.

Many older buildings and homes are poorly serviced and unable to support the electrical loads now being imposed on the electrical system.

Get a competent electrician or some other authority in to inspect the building, wiring, pipes, etc..

The sooner the better. New issues, 3 days ago, could mean further deterioration....

Remember the proverbial straw that "broke the camel's back".

Thank you for your knowledge! I'll write a message to my friend, he's an electrician. He does change outlets and other stuff so that could be a +. I might ask him to lend me over a volt meter or what it's called. :)

Also about this tshhh sound. Doesnt really mean that it sparks or smokes or anything like that. But that sound is indeed pretty horrifying. The sparkings can come in outlets only.
