I recommend reading the whole story. This is right by where I used to live and I have a few friends that have trained with this guy and have nothing but good things to say about him.

The worst part is Glenn Cutting (Grade A Dick, trust me) the Hartford Chief of police invoked some rule blocking the release of the police report to the public. An independent reporter request the info and was basically told we dont have to give you shite. Now the ACLU is suing on behalf of the reporter to get the records available. Sorry for the rant but this is just very disturbing because I know (Or have "Run Into" 😉 ) the hartford PD many times.

http://www.chicagodefender.com/article-8425-aclu-sues-town-of-hartford-over-police-records.html

Hartford Police officials issued a press release on Tuesday announcing they had asked Vermont State Police to investigate whether their response to a 911 call of a “burglary in progress” last Saturday afternoon in Wilder was appropriate.

According to the one-paragraph statement, Hartford police found an “unknown male subject on the third floor” of a Stony Creek townhome who was taken into “temporary custody” before paramedics treated him for a known medical condition.

End of story?

Far from it. The police department's press release lacked critical details about what happened at Stony Creek last Saturday afternoon, facts on which I hope the state police investigation will shed light. Meanwhile, I'll share what I have found.

The unknown male subject found in the home? He was actually the 34-year-old African-American who owns the home and has lived there for four years.

And the part about taking him into temporary custody?

Hartford police neglected to say that in the process he was: blasted with pepper spray; struck with a nightstick; handcuffed, wrapped in a blanket and hauled -- naked -- out of his home, according to a neighbor and what the man says police later told him. When the neighbor tried to tell cops that the handcuffed man on the pavement was the homeowner -- not a burglar — he said he was threatened with arrest for interfering in police business

people lack the passion, but have the interest.
that interest brings them in with an empty plate that must be filled with some form of passion.

when they have their own passion, they retain their right to passage.. meaning, the etiquette is that of their own.

too many times do we see somebody who isnt passionate about what they do.
its terrorism when you give these people responsibility, and it is unheard of to give them respect.

say you send a military person to pick up somebody at their house and bring them to some station.
if you dont know the details of what is going on, the escort has no idea how important it is that the person they are transporting arrives.
the choices are pretty simple:
1. you give yourself a much overdue heart attack trying to over-emphasize the situation for your own self-pride.
2. you dont realize how important the arrival is and find the over-bearing situation you face to be too much.. and instead of driving through a battlezone you ditch the ride and find your way to safety ... all because you want to live another day.

one MUST be trained with enough details to make the passion of the situation that of their own.

when the clock ticks to be leading the situation, you need to know if you are doing it for yourself or for somebody else.

people tend to forget that one leader can communicate with another leader and share passion.
simply because the one leader heard the information late, that doesnt mean the person is a follower .. provided they have all of the information to fill the psychological room we call 'passion'

any time there is a chance your feelings might change or be led askew.. you have to remind yourself 'this is what i am doing and this is what i am doing it for, because this is who i am'
otherwise you will get caught up in the moment with questions like 'what am i doing?' or 'who am i doing this for?'

you cant walk through fire if you havent first sprayed yourself with fireproof gel.

the reason they picked YOU to do it is because of who you are.
meaning, there wont be any worry about your decisions while doing the job.
the only worry is if you come back alive and unhurt.

no sense being a follower that simply does instructions and makes judgements along the way.
they might pick you to do it because they like how you make judgements along the way.. but the truth of the matter is, you have a gambling problem.

when you hire an assassin to do the job.. you dont simply give them a name and address.
because if there is no reason to do it.. the assassin might see something that makes the assassin change his/her mind.
say they are looking through a window with a sniper rifle and what they see through their sniper scope is enough to make the assassin pick up the phone and call somebody.
during the call the assassin says 'are you sure you want me to take out this person? because he looks awfully nice and sweet here in the window'

that is why you tell the assassin how the person got into trouble.. you show the evidence.. you show the court ruling that gives permission.. and then you answer any questions.
that way when the assassin goes to take the person out.. there wont be any room for misjudgement.

if you make the assassin want the person dead.. the assassin will be less likely to make any errors.

this already happens for some government services.
but
it needs to happen for all of them.
the whole scenario needs to trickle down into the community where there are people going to work everyday.
to say you are working at taco bell is to say that is your passion.
and generally, that means only one thing.. you absolutely love the food and want to make sure the food is made correctly for each and every person that comes to the store.

now..
a second degree of reason might be the fact you love the concept of fast food.
to say you can hand over your money and get some food in your hands in less than 10 minutes.
BUT
if you do this.. you totally ruin your credit by not working at your favorite fast food place to eat.
you are supposed to love and support what you do, as well as everything about it.

so when you love taco bell and are working there because you love the food and want everybody to get their food without any problems..
THAT is how you look at the building you are in and ask to put your vote in to make changes to make things better.
simply because you like the concept of fast food doesnt not 100% entitle you to make such a vote.
it would seem you are only 50% entitled.

you would need a profile that supports your feelings about what is what when things are wrong.
the lack of ergonomics and design means what to you?
not only would the profile need to exist, it would have to be first verified that it is true.
simply being able to say it.. that really should get you some attention about it.
sometimes your emotions are over-flowing before the words are gathered.

Im sure the guy may have been indignant having strangers enter his home, and asking him why he was there
Im thinking this is what may have happened, and I dont blame the guy
This is more than the usual breakdown of our society of course, and could or could not be construed as racist, depending, as Im sure alot of folks would be pissed about such police behavior
Back in the day, people knew each other, and this wouldnt have happened, unless it was a poor excuse at racism, which can be viewed the same today, as he happened to be black, and for all we know, those helpful neighbors, or whoever placed the call, knew that something could happen like this.
At the same time, I wouldnt want to be a cop either, entering a house not knowing what or how many whoevers (armed) is in the house.
Those cops dont make alot of money, and we hear time and again, we need to spend more money on schooling, but rarely do we hear about how things like this could be avoided by having better cops, meaning better wages and training.
In a innocent until proven guilty attitude, this is where I come from in all this, but its a shame and a loss all the way around for all of us

Well, I again think we need to put more money into cops, better cops.
On a battle field, friendly fire is too often one of the highest casualties of war.
But, theres many that dont let this happen, as they can take that edge of danger and make correct assessments
Its those we should seek, and to train them and pay them well.
If you enter a house, find a naked man semi concious, itd be easy to control the situation by talking the person down, no matter how upset they are.
I also remember the cop who was arresting a woman, and was attacked by her friend, where upon, he struck her (the friend), and was later charged with abuse.
He was attacked. He used proper response, as at first he didnt do anything, it was all on tape as well.
If that cop had entered the house, Im betting all things wouldve worked out fine, and medical help would have arrived to help the home owner.
Again, its a shame, and we deserve better

you are absolutely right.. cops dont make a lot of money.
because they choose to work a stupid job with stupid dangers.
not knowing how many people are in the room, this proves to be true.
not knowing if the person is armed or not, this proves to be true.
same can be said out in public.

all because the science fiction 'tools' are either highly classified or simply unavailable in some areas.
every police officer should have a hidden ear piece IMPLANTED into their ear canalS so they can report to a higher switchboard station.
one that could tell the cop to be nice because the person has a bad back.. or because they recently sprained their ankle.. or because the person simply doesnt deserve the hostility.

you couldnt have said it any better.
we all used to live in small towns where everybody knew eachother well enough that a cop could be a judge.
nowadays the cities are too big and to know everybody takes a team effort with tools.

this means many appliances that can act like a camera and microphone to tell the cops the person inside is safe.
it is cheaper and safer than having the cop go in with some special tool that can see through walls to identify if the person is armed or not.
it saves lives, not only by avoiding the dumbest criminals.. but also takes a thousand pounds of stress of the cops shoulders as they walk along and do their job everyday.
once these tools are in place, people in the role can be more relaxed and free to be themselves.
but
in the event the tools are to remain a serious secret.. the police officers have now been through a situation where not any idiot with a desire to do what they are told can get the job as long as they can drive a car and point a gun while remembering the rule book they are given.

way too much electricity when the cop 'is just doing their job' and you have to fight your way through it all in court.
because when you go to court, they are always trying to give the benefit of doubt to the police officer since they have been sworn in under oath.
if all of these cameras and microphones remain a secret, you wont get your evidence that you need.
maybe it comes some time later.. but then you have already spent time in jail and received much hassle that could have been avoided from the very start.

cops have no perception of civil status or psychological scale.
they can get caught up in mature content quick and easily.
civilians also get entrapped into the mind game of verbal abuse that the police are doing on a daily basis.
it is a head to head fight, and only the person with the power of passwords will win.
a very stupid game that needs much attention.
could save a lot of time and effort in the training process of the police officers.
and
it could really heal the emotional virus that spreads and spreads from one person to the next.

as it all boils down to a team effort.
you can get the cops called on you by a video camera.. or you could use the video camera to capture you doing something very kind for somebody else.
the ability to create a scale for yourself that can lean towards prosperity or negativity.
could lead to cheaper costs for college.. or even cheaper cost for rent.
could be better interest rates on loans or credit cards.. and it could mean the punishment for the criminals are much more accurate.
drivers licenses could be more accurately taken away.. instead of waiting for a bunch of calls from other drivers, or a photo from a camera on the traffic pole.

we are thirsty for it as a species.. because our emotional and mental health could finally heal.

Mingo I hope the guy gets some sort of compensation for this.

If I was a cop and went into a house and found someone naked with glazed eyes bent over the toilet bowl I'd tend to think he was sick and the owner ... not a burgler.

Wouldn't matter if he was white, black, yellow or green ... or wearing a turban or a propellor on his head.

Jeez.
