I just finished my IT School and my brother got one "Asus p6t ws pro" for free from his IT-Guy at work.

We wanted to build a small Workstation / VM Host / Server
I know Socket 1366 is quite old but as we have Solar Panels we won't pay much for the power consumption.

We've already ordered an XEON X5675 and when we wanted to buy the Ram we figured out that
that Mainboard ONLY can handle 24GB= 6x 4GB per module. PC3-10600U or PC3-10600E.

By searching on the Internet for a cheap solution of ram I found THIS.
https://www.cdw.com/product/Kingston-memory-12-GB-3-x-4-GB-DIMM-240-pin-DDR3/1829849?enkwrd=ALLPROD%3a(1829849)

But google says this ram is for "HP/Compaq."

For me it seems it could/should be usable too for non HP/Compaq 240pin PC3-10600E Slots ?!

What do you think @ TomsHardware?
