I get this message everytime I turn on the PC.I've been having some problems with my audio system lately and started installing different sound drivers.Since I installed SoundMax,I've kept getting this message. The funny thing is that I don't even have SoundMax installed anymore.I've searched for it Control Panel and nothing!Any ideas?

Well, first, uninstall all the different sound drivers so you are at a clean setup.

Find out exactly what your sound hardware is, and get the proper driver for that. You probably have a utility running that got installed along with the drivers. Look for some other things in Programs and uninstall them if they have to do with sound.

You can find exactly what drivers you need either though the motherboard support site or the PC vendor's, just look it up by your model #.

You can also find it out by doing a search by the Hardware ID which you can find in the Details tab of the properties of the device in Device Manager, it will look like VEN_14F1&DEV_506E. Tha'ts a sample of mine, that is the Vendor and Device string that will help you find things. If you don't have any errors in Device Manager things should be working OK. My Windows 7 laptop shows just HD Audio Device also, but it works fine.

A solution to get ride of the "AudioESP is not intended for this operating system" error is to search the C drive for the file smax4pnp.exe. When you get the results delete as many as you can, this fixed it on my Win 7 Pro system.
