My parents have the above CPU on there computer, and with having no ideas how these chips work i was looking at settings on CPU-Z and MBMonitor.

The chip is not OC in anyway but has an idle temp of 58c. What also concerned me was the voltage to chip is 1.712.

I'm an intel man so don't know how this fairs. Are these satisfactory settings or do they cause concern ?

I have the same cpu. It suppose to be at 1.6 volts. Mine runs about 40c idle and is somewhat overclocked. I have it at 200fsb but a lower muliplier, so it's still close to the same Mhz as before.
I suggest 50c and below at load for temps. Higher the temp (this includes intels), the higher chance to get random errors.

I have the same CPU, that is a bit hot, you may want to get a new fan. and i dunno why that voltage is that high mine came stock at 1.66v. thirty bucks for a new fan and HS and your temp problem will be solved.

'm not sure what the FSB is, it's the first time i've looked at the computer as i was putting some memory in for them. I'll look at it again more closely. Like I said everything should be stock. Which is why i couldn't understand the temps etc.

Horray for the Intel Man!
I had one of those before I came over to the dark side MWAHAHAHA and mine always ran hot also. I found that an aftermarket HSF was the best way to go. Anyway, I'd suggest you start by vacuuming or blowing out the fans inside the case. Then, you could try lapping the existing HS, or replacing it with a copper heatsink. Finally, a new fan may be needed. I had one of those YStech fans...sounded like a Gulfstream taking off!
