Hi!

We've had an strange situation.
My Opponent played "Thought Prison" and choosed an disenchant from my hand.

Would i be able to than put the disenchant on the stack ?
I know i can't target the "Thought Prison" because it is not in play but
perhaps an other artifact ?

What than happens to the "Thought Prison"

Thank ya
Haggy

| Thought Prison

| Artifact
| Imprint -- When Thought Prison comes into play, you may have target

| it and remove that card from the game. (The removed card is
| imprinted on this artifact.)
| Whenever a player plays a spell that shares a color or converted
| mana cost with the imprinted card, Thought Prison deals 2 damage to
| that player.

Well, I think that you're not quite seeing the timing here. Your
opponent plays Thought Prison. With it on the stack, you can't play
Disenchant targeting it, although you could play Disenchant targeting
something else.

Regardless, once you have nothing else to do, Thought Prison comes
into play. Its "When this comes into play..." ability goes on the
stack. With it on the stack, you could play Disenchant targeting the
Thought Prison. However, even if the Thought Prison gets destroyed,
doing so won't interfere with the ability that's already there.

Regardless, eventually you let the triggered ability resolve. During
its resolution, your opponent sees your hand, picks a nonland card,
and removes it from the game. You can't play anything during this
process.

I hope that that clears things up for you. Please post again if you
have any more questions.

No. You do not have priority while Thought Prison's triggered ability is
resolving. You could certainly -respond- to the triggered ability by casting
your Disenchant spell, even on Thought Prison, but that won't stop the
triggered ability from resolving, and you don't know yet what he'll pick, AND
if you do this he'll have to pick some other card from that hand.

Um, what? The Thought Prison ability triggers "When Thought Prison comes into
play". What makes you think it's not in play -after- that ability has triggered
and gone onto the stack? (This is entirely separate from the question "What
makes you think you can wait until the triggered ability is resolving and
he's looked at your hand and chosen a nonland card from it and -then- say
"I want to do something _right now_"?")

>What than happens to the "Thought Prison"

If you Disenchant it in response to its triggered ability, before he has ever
looked at your hand, he still gets to remove a nonland card from your hand
from the game; the Thought Prison is already gone from play at that point
though.

If you wait until he is looking at your hand, you can't do anything at all
until AFTER the triggered ability is completely resolved, the Disenchant is
removed from the game, and the Thought Prison is charged up and ready to
deal damage to anyone who casts a white spell or a CMC-two spell.
