Why have speakers, and headphones? A sound card isn't really needed unless you are doing audio recording, or are a massive audiophile.

uhh i chose the specific sound card so that it would help with my 7.1 headphones but you might be right about the speakers

Fair enough, I'm not the biggest audio expert, just the only purpose I've heard for a high end sound card is recording. A pair of headphones like might benefit from it though.
