Just wondering if you guys could look over the part list for my second build and see if you have any comments or recommendations.

The pc will be used for gaming, programming, photo/movie editing and pretty much the works. I also love to run a thousand applications at once.

You need a better psu for sure. That is a poor choice.

If this is for gaming, you need to spend less on the cpu and more on the video card. The i7 6700k is compatible with the B150 motherboard, but it is an odd choice.

I added a better motherboard, much better video card, a 250GB ssd, way better psu, and it even came out cheaper.

Thank you so much for the detailed advice! I should have mentioned that I have that psu and gtx 960 from my first build. I was planning on reusing those two parts to this build (only two parts I was planning on reusing).

couple of questions:

1) do you think that I should still upgrade the psu anyway? if so why?

2) do you think i should also upgrade from my 960? if so why?

3) Could you tell me your reasoning behind the motherboard switch? why asrock vs msi? curious if there is a good reason behind your backing on this one.

1. It's not very reliable. You could stick with it until it dies if you want. It's not likely to take out other parts when it goes like other bad psus can do. There is always that possibility though.

2. The brand doesn't matter. H170 boards are typically better and offer more features than the B150. In this case, the H170 happens to be cheaper too. Win win.

3. The 960 is relatively weak compared to the rest of the system. It will work just fine though. Upgrade it later when you want more performance.
