So I'm set to build a PC at the price tag of 2500$ Ish, and I'm aware of the current PC components prices at this time..

So my Idea is:
-Intel I7-8700K (2649kr / 416$)
-MSI Z370 Tomahawk (999kr / 157$)
-MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming (5290kr / 832$)
-Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 32GB Ram (2899kr / 456$)
-EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 850W PSU (1299kr / 204$)
-Seagate Firecuda 2TB 3.5 SSHD (836kr / 131$
-Samsung 860 EVO 250GB SSD (649kr / 102$)

And a Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler (600kr / 94$)
+ Microsoft WIndows 10 Home 64.-bit (788kr / 124$)

Just at 2516$ total

I live in Denmark so the prices may be different compared to other countries ofc.

But is there anything that should be swapped out?

Thanks!

You could probably just go with 16gb of RAM if your just gaming and save some cash. Also going with the 650W version of that PSU (excellent quality) if that saves you money again could go towards the 1080 ti instead of the 1080, besides that good build.

The thing is, with all these big titles coming out, the 16GB is starting to be "just enough". The person who gets this build (A friend) Has no knowledge about PC and just wants a 2500$ PC, to ensure a good rig for along time.. And about the TI Card, it's roughly 1100$ for the MSI 1080Ti, so quite a gab.
And I think 650W is a little low personally. Idk I'm no expert ofc.

So it's kinda hard being able to tell what is a better to save or invest in these days.

You won't need a SSHD when you already have a SSD, so it would be smart to swap the Firecuda for a bigger Barracuda.
I'd maybe also swap the i7 8700k for a Ryzen 7 2700X, drop the Noctua and use the stock Wraith prism, 16GB RAM is enough as of now and more can be added later if it ever comes to that. With the money saved get a GTX 1080 ti over the regular 1080.

Not a fan of installing Windows by USB Key... I've had multiple pc's not able to use a USB before the Board driver was installed. I look into the Z370 Extreme :) Thanks!

550W seems a little low, compared to my own rig that has problems running on a 500W psu with a 980 and and I7.
And from what I hear, a 600W is recommended and never cheap out on a psu

Problems occur from getting a crap quality power supply, and the saying ”never cheap” is not to do with wattage.

600w is recommended by one manufacturer who has no idea what your system is, so they can only assume the worse.
