I'm looking to build a new PC next week. It will be used for gaming (Assassins Creed, Witcher, NFS, Total War etc) at 1080p. I will not be overclocking. I'm not looking to upgrade any components for the next 3 to 5 years, as I usually buy a whole new computer by that time.
Note that the budget is stretched to the limit. That's why I'm strongly leaning towards the cheaper components out of the two I listed. Putting more expensive components in will most probably mean downgrading the CPU. And I'm not convinced by Ryzen, as even Ryzen 7 1700x seems to be beaten by i5 8400 in gaming benchmarks in terms of raw FPS, regardless of possessing more cores and threads.
I'm not looking for an SSD. Maybe I'll add one later.
CPU - i5 8500 (atm a little cheaper than i5 8400 where I live)
MOBO - Gigabyte b360m ds3h or Asrock b360m pro 4 (Asrock is 5 USD more expensive)
GPU - Sapphire RX 580 8GB nitro +
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 2666mhz cl16
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 7200 rpm
PSU - Seasonic s12ii 520w or Cooler Master MasterWatt 550, 550W (Cooler Master is 27 USD more expensive)
I'm not sure about the case yet. I want good ventilation, multiple fans, but don't want to pay over 70 USD for it. Any ideas?
About the monitor, I'm deciding between:
1. 24" LC24F390FHN Curved LED Monitor which has 1080p, 4 ms response time, 60 Hz, AMD FreeSync
2. 24" LG 24MP59G which has 1080p, 5 ms response time, 75 Hz, AMD FreeSync (30 USD more expensive)
I'm not sure that the difference between 60 and 75 Hz is worth it.
So, there are some doubts over:
1. MOBO
2. PSU
3. CASE
4. and the monitor.
Comments and advice are welcome. If you recommend one component over another please explain why you think it's better.
