Just a quick question I just wanted some first hand experience on this as I'm very new to this stuff. Is windows 7 home premium 64bit good for a gaming rig.

Don't know what info you guys may need but I will be playing games like the new dragon age and far cry 4.

It depends on what you need. Win7 is coming up on it's end of life cycle which means only another x amount of years for critical updates (security patches) where win8/8.1 is still receiving full updates and has full support. Hopefully they don't dumb down win 10 any worse, seems with each new release it becomes mandatory pc's for dummies. While it looks like an improvement having 1 click 'easy' options it does nothing for people with certain requirements. For instance winxp networking was much easier to use and more versatile. They dummied it up in win7 trying to 'simplify' it and damn near made it impossible to network in a way I need it to. (aka, ics only works on home network, but home network won't work alongside the public network needed to connect to the internet on the host pc). Many people are actually uninstalling win8 and going back to win7. Can't say I blame them. The prices reflect this as well since win7 is more expensive. They can't get rid of win8 so they're trying to drop the price and unload it cheap. Maybe get win8.1 for now and hopefully get a discount on a win10 upgrade? (with fingers crossed win10 is the new win7 solution to vista).
