Hello so I am gonna finally upgrade from my old PC and have got the build figured out, except I can't choose between the 2 Mobos listed above. I don't want the Asus Crosshair VII because I don't need all those extra features and don't need the BEST OC board. I just need a board than can handle a mild OC/XFR for the new Ryzen 7 3700x. No I don't want x570 I don't need the added heat of the chipset and the PCIE 4.0. or how expensive it will be.
IK both are highly regarded so I am mostly worried about BIOS, quality control, stability, etc. Build is:
MSI Gaming X 1080ti
32gb of trident Z 3200 mhz RAM
1 1TB SSD and 4 TB HDD + future upgrades.
5-6 case fans
ryzen 7 3700x

so for fans, the Gigabyte board does have more headers than the Taichi. I've had better luck with the Gigabyte board as well with memory overclocks, so YMMV. I do prefer ASRock's UEFI more, but both are serviceable.

Both boards should be good for modest overclocking. Aesthetically, you might prefer the Taichi's neutral scheme.
