Thoughts on audio setup?

Hello, i am looking to invest in a good audio setup for my pc. I currently have superlux hd681 evos with a modmic 4.0 muteless. I am planning to get the asus xonar dsx (for positional audio) and line out it to a fiio 11k. I have heard that the asus xonar dgx improves mic quality but it only has 5.1 channels. Can someone tell me their thoughts on this setup and also whether or not the dsx improves mic quality like the dgx? Thanks

in any case it seems like you are comparing 5.1 vs 7.1 virtual surround. honestly it does not much matter and you would be better served by listening to the types of virtual surround to make a choice rather than relying on if it is 5.1 or 7.1

often people prefer the sound signature of one or the other. dolby headphone is popular (xonar dg) and so is cmss3d/sbx (creative soundcards). not so sure on the others.
