Hey guys

Planning to build a new computer with the following specs:

CPU: i5 4590
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
SSD: 120GB Samsung 840 Evo
Mobo: AsRock H97M
Case: Coolermaster N500
RAM: 8G Kit 1600 Corsair Vengeance Blue
DVDRW: Samsung DVDRW
GPU: R9 270X
PSU: Seasonic G-550w gold

First I am just wondering if this seems alright or if there are any improvements which need to be made.

Secondly I am currently running on a Dell Studio 15 laptop; it's on pretty much all day mainly for work (i.e. Microsoft Word/Excel) but also for a couple hours of gaming so I am also just wondering what kind of extra cost I would likely see on my electricity bill if I upgrade my computer given that the current rate in my area is around $0.30 per kwh.

Thanks!

Solution
MSi, Gigabyte, or ASUS.

Gigabyte runs the coolest, but is the loudest.

Msi runs alright in temp, but is quieter and a good overclocker.

Asus is a middle-ground, all rounder.
everything seems to be good, but i would say that you can save some bucks by going for a i5 4570, the difference between devils canyon and haswell, is that there is new thermal paste between the heatspreader and the CPU, which really only benefits overclockers.
