Thoughts on my build?

Hey guys. I'm thinking of buying a gaming computer. I have gotten some parts from friends and my dads technological department at his work that think would be good for a gaming computer. And if you could recommend some keyboards monitors and mice that would be great. 😀

You could change a few things and get a better GPU. That would be ideal.

Also, the PSu is super overkill. 500w is plenty.

That motherboard will need a BIOS flash before it can accept that CPU. It was designed for sandy bridge not ivy bridge.

You also will not be able to overclock the CPU on that board.

What is a GPU? sorry for the noob question, and is it supposed to be a Processor and graphics card mixed?

No. the GPU is the graphics card. The CPU is the processor.

Either one is fine. Yes, a better GPU will improve gaming performance. Read my edit above about the motherboard and stuff.

That depends entirely on your budget. Different brands are superior at different price ranges.

You want to get a z77 motherboard if you plan to overclock.

Look at the hd7870 or gtx660/ gtx660ti.
