Thoughts on my build?

I set out with a budget of $1500 because that is as much as I can put into a PC right now(Not including OS, monitor, mouse, keyboard, or other peripherals) So far I have wanted to go with Intel for the CPU, NVIDIA for the GPU, preferably running SLI, and a Corsair 540 AIR "cube" case. This is the build I created on pcpartpicker.com

Intel i7-4790K
NZXT Kraken X61 Liquid Cooling
ASRock Z97 Extreme3 Mobo
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16Gb (2x8Gb) DDR3-1600
Samsung 640 EVO 120Gb SSD
WD Blue 1Tb 5400RPM HDD
2 GeForce GTX 660's SC with 3Gb each
Corsair 540 AIR case
Corsair 600W 80+ Bronze PSU
(Belkin 802.11/g/n Wi-Fi adapter)

Is this good enough to run almost all games on high or even ultra? I know from personal experience that GTX 660's are good but don't know if I would be better off just going with a 780 or 980 even for the price. I just wanted a second opinion on the build before going out and spending my money.
Thank! -Tyitup

Solution
Get a 100i CPU cooler - it's cheaper. Also, for gaming a 4690k is more than good enough.
Get a 970 or 980 - the best on the market
Also, I second @Tradesman1 on the Corsair CX PSU - don't get it - it will break.
8GB of RAM is more than enough for gaming - 16GB is too much

SLI 970 is by far the best option with you budget. There are something which I find in error in your build. Things like the HDD being 5400rpm rather than 7200 rpm or the PSU. CX PSUs have poor quality capacitors which put them at higher risk for failure and over time they are guaranteed to lose their efficiency faster.

Again, the 4790k is not necessary - get a 4690k

Do you have a crystal ball to predict whether or not games will use hyperthreading in the future?

No, but 4 cores for gaming will be fine for at least another 2-3 years (PROOF)
