I was thinking of making a new build and thought of comparing the price of my total build to pre-built ones when I came across Origin's Titan Z promo. They're basically selling a whole system for the price of a Titan-Z! I searched if it's true and it was with no catch and also stumbled upon Maingear having the same promo.

So my initial thoughts were is it worth it? I tried building one on both sites and figured if I sold the Titan-Z and bought 2 Titan Blacks I'd make a little profit too. But what are your thoughts with this whole promo? I inquired and was told it will only last until Oct. this year.

You're right. I'm wondering if anyone is even going to consider purchasing it. I don't really want the Titan-Z, but instead thinking if I could somehow turn it into a pair of Titan Blacks then I would be happy.

It definitely has to do with reseller inventory. If they have a lot of high priced items on their shelves like the Titan Z and they can't get rid of them they'll adjust their inventory accordingly and offer the high priced item at a much lower price to attract buyers and get the items off the shelf faster.

Not really. If you check out overclockers uk's price you'll see it's the price of 2 Titan Zs (Titan Zs in the UK are priced at £2,000 each). So you're basically paying for the cards and getting an incredible system to go along with it. But for the price OCUK is asking, I could get a complete system (with Asus 4k, mouse, keyboard, headset or speakers) at maingear.com for it.

Of course the parts won't be the same like the motherboard would be a G1 Z97 Sniper instead of a Maximus VII Formula, 8GB Vengeance 1600 ram instead of 16GB 2400, and only a 250GB Samsung 850 Pro instead of a 250GB Samsung EVO and 2TB Seagate Barracuda. But I like maingear's proposition better. Try it! I did a config to match OCUK's price and got a better deal. (OCUK price £3992.98 = $6,663.09)

OK let me get this origin system with 2 titan z cards. And then sell 1 Titan z for $1500?

I believe the performance is the same as a R9 295x2 (but more suited for 4k gaming),
and the real selling price should be similar or up to $2000 max, since more memory.
But i will let go at $1500 for a titan z, whos up for it!?
