[SOLVED] Thoughts on this build? Anything i could change?

Solution
Hey there,

It's a good build for the most part. Unless you have a specific need for more cores/threads then getting the Ryzen 5 3600 is a good bet. It's faster at gaming and is ample for any game currently out there. But then, I'd prob go for the 3700x myself, which is a stellar CPU.

You might also think about slightly faster ram, with 3600mhz being optimal for Ryzen.

So you whould pick these 2 instead? :) This whould be a better price, for a better performance or atleast the same? :)

I would also ask - what are the specs of your monitor?
  • What is the resolution?
  • What is the refresh rate?
  • Does it have FreeSync, GSync, or neither?
I ask this because I'm trying to determine if the RX 5700 XT is necessary, or if it's worth considering a lower-tier video card.

Also, with regard to RAM speed, it has been noted that the faster you go, and the higher resolution you're gaming at, the less benefit for each step up. You run into diminishing returns. I'd say that if the price of the 3200 and 3600 RAM is close, then go for the higher speed. But, you might not lose very much by going to 3200.

I assume then that the intent when gaming is to set the resolution to 1920x1080 or 2560x1440, even while playing on the TV? Performance will definitely suffer trying to game on 4K, even with high end video cards.

If the intent is to go 2560x1440, then the 5700XT will definitely be a good choice, though the 5700 non-XT may be sufficient as well, depending on what refresh rate he's trying to get.

Here's some performance charts of various games at 2560x1440 where the RX 5700 and RX 5700XT are included:

He wont be running 4k, i believe hes playing on 1200x600 or something right now, on a crappy laptop.
He wants to run decent graphic while having decent resolution.
I think well got with the XT model.
Do you know if all the parts are capable of running together, the parts i linked in the top, with the other parts i found.

It seems slightly high to me, maybe, but that's because I'm used to US prices. I don't know what normal prices are like in Denmark.

I tried to put together a similar set of parts for the US from PCPartPicker (you can also select Denmark for this), and came up with about $1000 USD.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($174.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard ($129.99 @ B&H)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory ($94.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Blue SN550 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card ($383.98 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case ($86.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($123.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $994.91

I couldn't just switch the existing part list to Denmark, because for some reason it couldn't find prices for the PSU and video card I picked. And those two components are a large part of the price.
