Hi,
My friend wants to know if his build is ok for Gaming, Rendering videos and animation, and just general use.
CPU: AMD FX-8350
CPU COOLER: SilverStone TD02
Mobo: Asrock Fx990 Extreme3
RAM: GSKILL Ares 2x8gb
SSD: Samsung EVO 120gb
HDD: WD 1 TB
PSU: Silverstone 750w 80+ Silver
GPU: MSI R9 280x
OS: Win7 Pro 64bit
Case: CS Storm Trooper

I would say save the money and not get the liquid cooling and get a noctua cooler like nh-u14s or nh-d14 performance difference would only be a few degree difference throughout all the reviews i saw and it is also maintenance free. ALso why the CM storm full tower ? you could use a lot smaller case like fractal r4 you do not have that many components to need an ultra tower like that and ram you could get away with using 2x4gb sticks there really is no reason to have more than 8GB i would suggest to change your build completely assuming parts are not already bought.

I'd give this build a 8/10. Since you are overclocking you can save money and get the fx-8320 instead. It is essentially the same. Only real difference is at stock, the fx-8320 wins. Second, that cooler isn't very good. Get a Kraken or Corsair water cooler instead. Lastly, the MSI 280x isn't one of MSI's best. (I have owned 2 MSI GPUs and didn't buy the 280x cuz of bad reviews)
