Hello,

I am trying to build a new PC for gaming. I have the mouse, monitor, and keyboard just really need the core peaces to the tower.

I am only going with one SSD because 500GB is enough to start and I can pop another SSD at any time.

I apologize but I forgot to add the cooler, for some reason I thought the intel chip came with one but I guess not. That's a interesting thing not to include (I feel these are the reasons people like AMD over Intel, and the price of course).

Thank you for the set up, may I ask why the peaces you picked would provide better performance? I get the SSD being 2.0 so I can see that being faster but the change in board affects that much performance?

If I may ask you this question, my build would generate 100 FPS on Counter Strike lets say but your build would generate 115 FPS? I am just trying to understand the difference in hardware and why somethings work better while others don't.

I also want to do G-Sync with this set up what do you think of this monitor:

For G-Sync to work do I have to have a Intel CPU? I am just wondering if G-Sync works with a AMD chip but Nvdia GPU or does the CPU have to be Intel?

Thank you for all the help. I like MSI better as well over the EVGA GPU card. I saw some RIPjaws running at 3600 speed would that help me with this build? I don't mind spending a extra 70 - 80 bucks if going from 3200-3600 is worth it.

The board comes with lots of connectivity options, overclocking potential and features like superior audio codec with headphone amps, bluetooth and wifi. When you choose a better quality hardware, its not just for a few more FPS, but also better features which in turn lends to better overall experience along with performance and stability.

GSync has nothing to do with CPU. Gsync is meant for NVidia cards.
Running RAM speeds after a certain point kicks in "Diminishing Value of Return". The amount you pay for RAM faster than 3000/3200 mhz is not proportional to the performance gain you get, not yet atleast.

If you want to stretch your budget, go for the 9900k for better longevity.

Thank you for the info, less heat more performance. Thats the goal regardless of hardware, I totally get it and those features you mentioned on the mobo are important to me. (Did not really think of those, hence why I asked .

I will stick to the 3200 in RAM speed, thank you for explaining that as well.

About the G-Sync feature, will this PC be able to utilize that feature to it's fullest? I posted a monitor link in my last post any chance that peace of hardware will work well with this setup?

GSync is a pretty nice thing to have, if you can afford it. The monitor looks good specs wise. Only thing is, at 27", 1080p can look a bit pixelated if your viewing distance is not sufficient enough. Just keep that in mind, rest is perfect for the setup.

Thank you for all the info, I do see AMD is going to release a new MOBO with the Ryzen 9 CPU. Since PCIe4.0 is on that new mobo is it worth wait until July to build a new PC? I read that 2010 was when PCIe3.0 was released, so going to 4.0 would be a big jump?

Yeah, you can do that. But PCIe3 is not even close to saturation. Its still miles ahead until components start adapting to PCIe4 standard.
Thats not a point worth waiting for as much as the gaming benchmarks from the new Ryzen lineup.

I like how you included the Scythe Mugen. Sythe makes such good quality quiet air coolers for a good price but I never here anyone talk much about them. Definitely could use some more attention

Thank you Spencer, it's nice to see others agree with others. Often we have our own preferences and needs but Hellfire has been more then helpful in my hunt for a new RIG. Everything I have look up with that cooler is great quality.

Cryorig is another cooler company that does't get enough attention if you are interested in a different style air cooler. I have a an H5 Ultimate on my Ryzen 2700 and I was able to OC to 3.9GHz on all cores. Just some different options. Good luck with the new system.
