Seagate has the highest HDD failure rates so you have to question yourself, you feelin lucky punk? well are ya? lmao and the optical drive can be cheaper. Optical media isnt used as much these days so the cheapest one you can find should suffice.
 
hmm. i had 10 seagates and none of them failed. on the other hand, WD failed on all my family's computers.

my friend has about every seagate product since they started out with sata 1 drives and none of them failed (all of them including a pile of goflexes) while his WD drives are crapping all over the place

hmm. now do i recommend WD? maybe. only when the WD alternative is priced the same

I didn't mean that all of their drives fail I just want him to put it into account. And all of my WD drives still work including the ones at school that are thrown around a lot lol. But people have different experiences with products.
