Hi everyone,

I am going to build a pc for my girlfriend, she won't play any games on it, maybe a bit of minecraft or sims! These are the the parts I am thinking about ordering:

Asus Z87-A
Corsair 500W Modular PSU
Samsung 840 EVO
Corsair Vengeance C70 case
Asus Nvidia GT 640 2gb
1TB WD Blue
Intel i5 4670
Corsair Vengeance 8gb Ram

Thanks!

If I were you, I'd build an APU system. You just don't need an i5 for a casual user, and it forces you to get a separate GPU if you want to do even casual gaming. Something cheap would be better for you, like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD A10-7850K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor ($184.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($64.99 @ NCIX US)
Memory: Kingston Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($64.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($89.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($57.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $607.93
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Feel free to make some modifications, but the APU will be more than enough for Sims and Minecraft, and will absolutely destroy basic tasks like media streaming and web browsing.
