Golf Sim Computer Upgrade Project coming together...
Current system’s Salient points:
  • 4k Projector
  • 4k 32” monitor (duplicated on the touchscreen monitor)
  • 1080p 24” touchscreen monitor
  • 1080p 24” monitor
Notes:
  • 4K 32” and the 1080p touchscreen are duplicated so they both show the same Swing Camera video. This is so people in the room can watch from all angles.
  • The other 1080P monitor shows the ProTee Launch Monitor data
  • The 4K projector shows the simulation software (GSPro)
  • Launch Monitor is hard wired to the computer, which is hard wired to internet, at full Gig service
Computer:
  • AMD 7700X
  • 4080 Super, displaying the projector and the two mirrored displays
  • The 4th monitor is connected to the integrated GPU in the Ryzen 7700X processor
  • 32 Gig of ram
USB connections (no hub—all connected to back of computer as I prefer it):
  • two keyboards
  • two mice
  • GSPro control box
  • microphone
I am thinking of upgrading this system because I sometimes experience choppy video on the projector and my swing cameras are often dropping frames. This leads me to think that I may need a more powerful graphics system and some combination of better swing cameras and/or the interface into the computer (quality high-speed cameras via a POE PCIe card).

Task Manager often shows the 4080 Super fully maxed with a course like Sanctuary Moon, with only a little bit here and there under 100% use. The CPU does not seem overly taxed. The RAM often shows above 30 Gig in use.

I have another GPU (4070 Ti) and, based on comments I received in these forums in another post, I'm considering going Intel and getting the ROG Z890 Apex motherboard, which will allow me to install both GPUs while also preserving the two 4.0 PCIe slots for the future (i.e. POE card for better cameras, and a USB 3.0 card for more USB ports). With a big PSU, my thoughts are that this system would be sufficient to run everything I want. Probably, I'd go with the 265 Ultra CPU as I can get it for half the price of the 285.

Frankly, I'd prefer to stay with AMD, but to do that I'd have to swap my two GPUs for a 4090 or 5090, though I'd be able to spend a bit less on the motherboard, PSU, and memory (the CUDIMM stuff is expensive).

And I'm attentive for any comments you may have!
