Thoughts on upgrading from fx8350 to i7 2600

Basically I’ll go from fx8350 to i7 2600 and I’ll have 14gb Ram now worth 150$?

You shouldn't install 14GB of RAM.
RAM should be run in Dual Channel (installed in pairs) to achieve the best performance.
2x 4GB =8GB
4x 4GB =16GB
2x 8GB =16GB
4x 8GB =32GB
2x16GB =32GB ...and so on.

Honestly, it's 2019, i'd just move up to a new system.

You will need a new motherboard and CPU anyway, might as well get some DDR4 and step up to a Ryzen system.

It’s already in a system. I’m not paying 500$ right now. My fx is running games fine I just wanted a good enough boost. Maybe in a year or two I will go ryzen not now but that’s not what I asked
