Hello. I'm a noob when it comes to computer hardware, and this is going to be my first build. Please don't flame me for choosing pieces you don't like - I'm on a budget and can only afford to spend a little over $250. But please, if you don't like the parts for a legitimate reason, reply with why you don't like them. Will these parts even work together? Will I be able to buy newer, better parts for this build as time goes by?

I agree with the above, especially the PSU. I haven't seen it tested, but the little voltage switch on the little Antec Basiq suggests it is an obsolete, inefficient design that may also be overrated. I would not buy one.

Edit: Do you need an optical drive? That will add another $20.

Me gusta, sir. I'll definitely be replacing a lot of my parts with the ones you mentioned. Thank you! :hello:

Hmmm, I just looked at the motherboard images more closely and saw a PS/2 port. I'm not familiar with it, but I googled it and it said it's for mice and keyboards. The problem is: the plugin is purple colored, and I have a USB keyboard so I only need to plug in my mouse, but it appears I can't plug it in as the port's only for a keyboard, so what do I do?

Yeah an optical drive would be nice. However I do have one on me. Does it matter what kind of optical drive it is?
