Running 144hz monitor does not directly effect GPU temperature. You will very likely see an increase in GPU temperature because you are having to work the card significantly harder to pump out more frames per second (FPS). 144hz effectively means you can output 144FPS to the screen and it can display it, most standard screens are 60hz and therefore 60FPS. So basically you are asking the graphics card to double it's FPS output which means it's going to use more RAM and require more processing, therefore this will likely lead to an increase in temperature.
