I think I'm in the market for a gaming chair. I've been using the same office chair for more than twenty years now. I'm not looking to spend more than about $300, and preferably less than that, but I'm wondering if there is anywhere in the forum to get advice on gaming chairs?

Thanks.

Solution
The problem with recommendations for things like this is that they are incredibly individual.

If you and I were the same height/weight...a particular model might fit you and not me. Or be too soft/hard/squishy...

I have a DXRacer. 3 years(?). I find it very comfortable.

One thing you must look into is the actual construction.
2 chairs may look identical in the online pics.
One for $300, one for $110.

If you were to slice them open, you'd find that the $300 chair has a steel platform and quality foam, wheres the $110 has a fiberboard platform and foam that was reclaimed from old shipping packaging.
But on the outside, they look mostly identical.

As long as you are not a big guy, the Staples Hyken chair is nice. Not like one of those racing chair designs but comfortable to sit in for hours and the back and head rest recline just right for sitting back for some movie/video watching. I tried several gaming style chairs that we got for my son and at work (I work at a retailer so our buyers end up with a bunch of samples), the mesh chair was one I could sit in for longest without feeling like I had to shift around or get up for a bit.
