Thumb Drive Will work on any computer but the one i need it to.

Hello, I am trying to get my thumb drive to work on one computer. It will work on the other 4 computers i have just not the one i need it to work on. I have 5 other thumb drives and they will work on all 5 computers. Why would the one computer not open the only thumb drive that i want to open. To throw another problem in there. If i have the thumb drive in a usb slot and restart the computer it will open but as soon as i take it out and put it back in the usb slot it will not let me access the drive.

all of the computers are dell optiplex, it does not try to install anything on any of the computers and the one that it will not work on it shows up under drives but when you double click on it. it will not access the information and states i need to format when i try to format it states windows is unable to format.

Hi there jmoor98904,

As the drive works on other computers, just back up all the data that you have on it. You have tried all the ports on the laptop right?
If we assume that all the laptops are the same(latest USB updates), then the issue you are facing may be a drive letter related. Go to Disk Management and see what is the letter assigned. If it doesn't have one, you can assign it.
