There was a thunder storm a few days ago, and in the process, power was lost for about 30 minutes.
Everything else turns on and was perfectly fine, other than the router. ISP service came over and tested everything, and they said the problem was with the router. I did a modem-pc connection and it works.
The router can turn on, but when I connected the ethernet wire, the router shows that no cable is connected
The router is an ASUS RT-68U or something like that, and it's pretty expensive.
I'm assuming that the LAN port got fried, and if that's true, is there any way to fix it?

Solution
If the other ports still work and the 68u connects everything through vlans, then it may only be the port's isolation transformer that is fried. Otherwise, it probably is the 6-ports Ethernet switch IC.
You could a reset and see if you get lucky. Asus also has a special mode to recover busted firmware...you will need to read the manual. If the power light does not flash like they indicate the router may have a hardware defect.

Like a lot of electronic equipment, when chips go bad they tend to fail when they have been running for a long time and you turn the power off and back on.

Check asus site some of their router have 2yr warranty
