Hi all,

I have this docking station Toshiba Thunderbolt 3 which connects my thunderbolt C based laptop to a Dell monitor. It works fine.

But, when I connect to my another laptop which is Asus Zenbook using the same thunderbolt cable, the laptop is not recognized.
As in the laptop does not project anything on the monitor. The laptop has a 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C support display.

Do I need some sort of connector?

Can someone please help me debug this?
Thanks heaps.

Hi @helpstar, thanks very much for your reply.

Yes, I did realize that Asus Zenbook does not have an thunderbolt port.

The docking station has other ports too:
- HDMI output port
- DisplayPort
  • VGA
  • Mini DisplayPort

Can I use any of these ports or use any dongle/converter that I can use to connect to the same docking station?

Basically, I would like to use the same docking station to connect either of laptops.

Thanks.

Oh gosh that sucks that its not backward compatible with USB C or other ports.

Can you please recommend docking stations that work with both USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 (for both my laptops)?
Thanks again for your help @helpstar
