ok here is another upgrade question

Im currently looking to build a machine around the ASUS ProArt x670E creator WIFI which has a lot to offer but there is a chance that it may not play well with the AM% 7000 series so im hearing

if I go with the gigabyte board (x670E xtreme) it doesnt have native thunderbolt/usb4 headers
so I would be sacrificing that

There are Pci-E cards that you can isntall but:....Question
most of these cards are only Pci-E 3/4 which maxes out, according to the internet at 32gbps
which would seem to truncate the 40gbps of the thunderbolt port...

or am I missing something?

Can you pass on the add-on cards you're looking at? Asus Thunderbolt card's have a compatibility list and also need a header on the motherboard to work in tandem with the motherboard.

IMHO, just make sure you've got the latest BIOS version and you should be fine, compatibility wise.
