[SOLVED] Thunderbolt USB-C adapter for SATA SSD

Currently I have a Samsung SATA SSD, which if I connect directly to the motherboard, I can use Samsung Magician to upgrade its firmware and view all the stats. However, with "standard" SATA to USB 3.0 enclosures, it's not the same, and Samsung Magician does not recognize properly. It works perfectly fine and such but it's not the same level of interoperability. Apparently using a Thunderbolt adapter it will make the disk appear as internal.

Any ideas or recommendations? Anybody tried this before?

I see. What about S.M.A.R.T. capabilities? Possible to check drive health so I know before it fails?
CrystalDiskInfo.

But...relying on SMART to tell you of impending fail, is a fail on your part.
A drive can go from perfect to absolutely dead instantly. I've had it happen.

Always always always be prepared for a dead drive. Or other weirdness.
