So a thunderstorm hit, lightening struck and now my computer won't start. It was on a surge protector but I suspect the ethernet bypassed it. My PSU died and when I put a new one in the light on the board turns on but the computer doesn't. The motherboard is an asus H81M-A,CPU is an intel i5 4460. I can't remove the fan since I'd have to break the plastic, but I'd like to know the best possible recourse. They don't seem to sell the same board anymore and I'm not sure if anything else fried like the CPU or HDD.

Fans aren't glued on, they're attached with screws. If you can't take off the fan, you can't take out the CPU and if you can't take out the CPU, then if either the motherboard *or* CPU are toast, they're both unusable.

If you don't have ways to test the individual parts, the best thing to do is take the PC apart and bring the key components to a shop for testing.
