Ti 4600 vs. 5700 LE

Hello,

My GF4 Ti4600 (128mb/4x AGP-I think) just took a dump and I have am thinking
about replacing it with a GF5700 LE (256 MB 8X AGP).

I remember when I bought the 4600 in 2002 it was about $350. The 5700 is a
bout $180.

So -- will I get better gaming performance with the 5700LE than I got on the
Ti4600?

Which is the better card? Which one would you take if they both cost the
same?

A Ti4600 is a far better card speed wise than a 5700LE. Ti4600 has 300Mhz
core/ 600Mhz memory. 5700LE has 270Mhz core, 400Mhz memory. Only one
commends the 5700LE above the 4600. It's DX9, the 4600 is DX8.1

The 4600...

For $180, you could get the 5900xt which is about twice as fast as the
5700Ultra.... (128mb, 256mb ver is a waste of money).

I recommend the MSI brand for its low noise.

Also a slow CPU will not help your performance much.
