Tiki, The Night Dance, Gnaar Mok (6)

To the Guildmaster, Rahar,

Today, I snuck up on a winged Twilight and slipped my
Bound Dagger into it's back before it knew I was there!
I am pleased with this simple act, though I know I
still often cannot surprise a simple mudcrab. The
simple things are easy; the complex ones are not.

A few days ago, when leaving Hla Oad, I swam out to
sea, west of a Daedric shrine, looking for what
might be marked "X" on a mysterious old map that I
have come across. I found another shrine, sunk
beneath the sea, it's statue shattered. And, lo, the
shrine spoke to me. It was Boethiah. From my
readings trying to piece together the webs that are
spinning about me, I knew that once Boethiah was one
of the most powerful of the Daedra Princes. Now he
is all but forgotten, with no one to rebuild his
shrine, with no other way to reach this world.

He is the second of the Daedra Princes I have
spoken with. The first was Mephala, patron of the
Morag Tong. After I had spoke to Boethiah, I
realized that there were beings still alive from
the time of the cataclysm at Red Mountain. The
Almsivi, their allied "good" Daedra (Mephala,
Boethiah and Azure) and their enemy "bad" Daedra
(Mehrunes Dagon, Malacath, Molag Bal and Sheogorath).
And--perhaps--the Missing God, Lorkham (Shor, maybe
Wulfharth, and maybe Sheoforath--who came to be
when Lorkham was separated from his divine spark).

So, I decided to go and see the closest of the living gods
still said to walk among men, Vivec. But I found that
he stays all the time in his palace, and has seen no
one for years. The Puzzle Palace, alas, has a very good
lock in place. So then I tried to see Almalexia, but
she, too, stays behing locked doors. One of her
priests did ask me to do a favour for the goddess. But
I ended up leaving Mournhold quite suddenly, very shortly
after I'd arrived. I had found many wondrous new herbs,
and a seller of grand soul gems, and was quite laden down.
Usually, I try to stay very light...but I was greedy for
the soul gems. And the herbs. I was doing someone a favor,
performing a play "The Horror of Castle Xyr" when I was attacked
by yet another assassin. He had a VERY nice sword, that I
was intent on keeping. But I wanted my gems and I wanted
my herbs and I wanted my assortment of potions and so I
just Recalled back to Balmora. Sigh, I must be more
disciplined in what I carry. That, or I must start
strength training as a serious effort. Do I really need
to carry 7 amulets of orc strength? Probably not. I rarely
use one (I mostly leave treasure behind when I find it).

Anyway, then I went back to try to talk to Mephala, but
he would not answer.

Then I tried reading some more. The accounts mostly
differ, Nord to Temple to Ashlanders to Dissadent Priests to
Imperial notes. But a good deal more is the same between
Nord, Imperial, Ashlander, Dissadent Priest and general
legend than between the Temple accounts and anything else

When Boethiah's shrine is rebuilt (just north of Gnaar
Mok), I will trying talking to him again. Meanwhile, I
think I will go try to find Azura. Or, at least, I will
go to her shrine on Azura's Coast.

Oh, I should mention that I have indeed joined the
Telvanni, and have done a few small errands for them. But
mostly I have been looking for a Golden Saint at various
daedric shrines to put in a soul gem. Sigh, I lost my
first grand soul gem by putting a Skeleten Champion into
it, when I only saw the Bonelord beside him in the darkness.
Nomatter, now I have many grand soul gems. I just have
no Golden Saints.

Yours Truly,
Tiki, The Night Dancer
The Hidden Hand of Balance
