Mixed opinions on this, so I came here.
The time has come to upgrade my PSU, I think...
Based on what i have put into various PSU Calculators around the web (eXtreme, NewEgg, XFX) I get a number anywhere from 375-435W. Which I don't trust.
The Build:
AMD A8 6600k
16GB 1600 Corsair XMS 3 2x Dual Channel Kit 4GB a piece
Cooler Master Evo 212
XFX Radeon R9 285 DD 2 GB
DVD-R Drive
6 - 1400RPM LED Case Fans
LED Backlit Keyboard, Razer Naga, Elgato HD60.
Im using a Corsair CX 500 power supply, I think I need an upgrade...

Especially since that is a CX PSU. Don't trust the calculators for sure; a good 500W unit will run that system well. However, the CX500 is not quite the best unit around, so even though it may handle the load, it will degrade faster than better units.

If you plan to replace it, I'd look at the XFX 550W. Otherwise, though, it should work, but there's a chance it might fail shortly after the warranty expires.
