Hello,

It's time to upgrade my PC. My current build is an AMD phenom II 3.4ghz 4x with an AMD Radeon 6800 and a WD 1tb hdd 5400rpm hdd. This computer is mostly for gaming. I don't need an optical drive.

This is what I've come up with. My budget is around 1300-1500 dollars.

My biggest questions are on the CPU and GPU. An SSD isn't important at this time, since the cpu and gpu upgrades are going to be pretty big leaps above what I have now. I'm still debating if I should go for a gtx 980 or 970, with the idea that I want to future proof this build as much as possible for several years to come.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

PSU is low quality. Replace with Antec, XFX, Seasonic unit.

I personally would get a cheaper motherboard. That board is quite overpriced. You can get a $150 board that will be exactly the same.

I would also get an air cooler over an h100i. Same or better performance for cheaper and MUCH less noise.

Thanks for the reply. If I'm planning to do multiple sli over time, which motherboard would you suggest? I'm looking at the ASUS Maximus Hero VI...
