Ok.. a couple of postings have got me thinking that I've had my current monitor for FAR too long, and wouldn't mind a new one...
My current one is a 17" Sony HMD-A200. this one if you wish to see..
What I dislike About it
It's 17". Bigger is always better
All that plastic. WHY? some sort of fashion statement? it's like, as big as a 19" monitor anyway
It's highest (useable) res is 1152x864. I feel running games at that res is not really getting that much benifit from my 9800Pro.
The stupid stand arrangement - it doesn't have a swivelling base like every other monitor in the universe. instead it's got two legs under the front, and came with a piece of plastic that goes under the back to change the angle of the screen. Needless to say, this is a bit inflexible really (and I've since lost the plastic)...
What I like about it
It was free (a birthday present from the parents - horribly overpriced really but I wasn't paying ).
It has a very nice bright image with good contrast (but then I guess that's due to trinitron)
So I want to get a nice 19" monitor to replace it - but I don't want to end up with a larger but lower quality picture.
scottchen Reccomended a Samsung 955DF, but I don't seem to be able to find one here in the UK. I found a Samsung SynchMaster 957p which looks quite nice and is a fairly good price - anyone used one of these?
Anyone got any other suggestions? all input appreciated.
