Hello everyone,

Okay as we speak my current build is

Motherboard Sabertooth 990fx
CPU AMD 8150
GPU Gigabyte R9 290
H100 with 4 SP1 Fans
2x SSD Samsung 1x 150 1x 250
1x Samsung HDD 1T
Corsair Vengeance Ram 4x 4 GRAM DDR 3
OS Windows 10 " Meh"
Case Corsair 540
PSU 750 Corsair Dual Modular

As we can see it's not a bad Rig but I'm not happy with the cpu,mb & gpu !! Some might say I must be mad to start a new build but i feel like i want something with a bit more of a bite so to speak... Well this is what I'm looking on getting and i would like some comments please.. Thanks.

New Build Rig

Motherboard Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO
CPU Intel Core i7-4790K
GPU Radeon R9 390 " was thinking of getting the X Version but not much of a difference"

So all in total It's not going to burn a big hole in my pockets.. i just feel it's time i went over to the Darkside . Please comment if you can think of a better work around than this. Thanks

James

Wait a few days-weeks for skylake to launch, if it flops you can fall back on what you have planed. Its worth waiting for.
The 290 is still capable, and the 390 wouldnt be a great increase from it. I would say Xfire, or go for something like the 980Ti.

The processor is the only real thing that I would upgrade.

Not any real reason to upgrade from a R9-290 to an R9-390, pretty much the same card with more ram.

If you wanted to improve GPU performance, upgrade your powersupply and get a second R9-290? Or sell your GPU and use the money to upgrade to a 980Ti or Fury X...

sorry if I've offended Intel Owners ! My budget is £670.... you have all put across good points... i guess it would not be an bad idea to get the 8350, upgrade the psu and CF another R9 290 if I'm still not happy then sell them both for an 980Ti.. Would you all agree to this ? Also Would a EVGA 220-P2-1000-XR suffice for CF and some headroom left for some Overclocking the CPU ?
Thanks for speedy reply s :)

Why do you want an i7? I'd only reccomend an i7 over an i5 if you are doing high volume video editing or 3d work, otherwise you will not see the benefit for the extra £75.
