Time to rebuild a 500GB raid

Hello,
had a raid array inactive and just clicked on build RAID, seems like a long time ~2 hours now to duplicate 500GB-SATA

It typically takes quite a while to build a RAID array. What level of RAID is it and is it implemented on the motherboard or a separate RAID card?
