My wife just bought me an Oculus Rift and an EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 XC Ultra for christmas (total surprise, yes she's awesome) but my current system is a bit old. The only useful piece I think I could pull out of it is the 1TB samsung 860 pro which I think is okay for now, IMO I can hold off on that until the next generation comes out.

So my question: given a $1300 budget, what's the best (gaming) system I could pull together in your opinion all in without a videocard/harddrive/peripherals?

1. As of now I have 2 60hz monitors, but I plan on upgrading those in a couple of months. Either way the oculus is what I'm gearing for, so I guess technically they run at 90hz, but I'm aiming for 144hz in the future :)

2. I'm in Canada, but the budget I mentioned was in USD (I should have specified) just to make it simple for everyone. To complicate it though, its 1300USD or about 1800 CAD

3. I'd like to keep it in a mid tower, and yeah RGB never hurt anybody. The case I was actually just looking at when you replied was the Corsair 570X, but I've never owned a tempered glass case, so I dunno how that affects anything or if it's any good in general.

Just to add, I literally haven't looked at any computer hardware since I purchased my current rig (a 2600k about a month after it released...) other than the hard drive I bought semi-recently, so I am completely out of the loop. I've been poking around, but this is why I'm here looking for advice :)

Oh I guess I could add, my current PSU is an old Seasonic SS-1000xp, could probably still use that? I'm not sure. Have these things changed? I'm just a gamer, not deep into the technical side :D
