I recently was given the 1080ti and believe the i7-4770k is the bottleneck now.

I do heavy gaming and streaming, but have noticed that when OBS is open, ready to stream, the performance of whatever game I am playing drops substantially. (More so than it did when I had a 960gtx installed) (could be the newer games though?)

I have used Intel exclusively throughout my gaming life, but I am not opposed to making the switch if AMD is better for my purpose of gaming while streaming.

I have a budget of around $1500Cad (1200usd), looking for some future proofing, Not opposed to switching anything out (Mobo,ram.. anything), wide open to any suggestions. Trying to get the most out of this gpu while it is still decent :)

Also if I need to replace my mobo (probably) would like something that takes advantage of the monster case I have (Corsair 900D) and has enough connections for my 8 internal hard drives.

Thanks in advance!

Well, for streaming and gaming, a Ryzen 5 2600 is the minimum you should look at. A Ryzen 7 2700 (2700X) is recommended.
On the Intel side, an i7 8700 or 8700K.
But for things such as steaming, AMD is better due to higher core count.

Thanks for the answers, seems like AMD is the way I'll be going, just curious though I don't think I need any more internal HDD space, is there a specific reason you included the 500gb SSD or just trying to hit the budget target? Is that Mobo upgradeable at all instead?
Thanks again :)

I ended up getting the processor and motherboard you suggested, ended up with 16gb of ram at 3000 as ram price is a little rich for me at the moment. Thanks again for the help :)

Just finished installing everything today and running into some weirdness, the keyboard/mouse work in the bios, but as soon as the windows logo comes together during startup, they both unpower.. any suggestions or sound I start a new question up? Logitech g710+ keyboard, Logitech g502 mouse, windows 7 home premium.

Booting in safe mode doesn't change the effect. Always works fine in bios menu.. weird no?
